So my mom and I went to Walmart to get some of Alex’s favorite things for dinner.

We had fun shopping in their extensive fall and Halloween decorating section.

We then headed over to the frozen foods section and picked up some Tyson Chicken Nuggets, Ore-Ida French Fries and made sure to get a bottle of Heinz ketchup too.

We also checked out the Hasbro games to find a fun one to play tonight.

When I got home from Walmart I went to the DipToPlay website and registered. I also entered my UPC codes from the items I bought in order to unlock the game of the week, and to hopefully win a prize. You can check out all of sweepstakes rules here.

We sat down to dinner and then sang Happy Birthday to Alex and had dessert before breaking out the family games.

We decided to play Pictureka!

And Blake, my dad and brother-in-law Gary settled in playing a rousing game of Scrabble.

We had blast gathering for a fun family night with food and entertainment. Game nights are always such a great way to really reconnect with everyone and get the conversations flowing with all ages in your family. Are you ready to have the 2nd talk? Or do you not have clue what that is suppose to mean?  Well in our house, we have been having lots of conversations about that 1st talk that girls have. Yep, that one, the one where you get to talk about all the joys of getting your first period. (Joys, yeah, right) But anyway, my 12 year old twin girls are THISCLOSE to getting their period any day and often I hear them talk about it with their friends and who has it or who just got it.  So yes, I’m familar about that talk.

And how ironic that my girlfriends and I are now talking about the opposite stage of our lives that we are entering and what we are all experiencing at our age. Yep, that’s the 2nd talk.  It really is a milestone in every woman’s life and it happens to all of us. We will age, and we will have that part of our lives end. And as bittersweet as it is to know that you really are done having children there is now the compromise that you can wear white pants whenever you want and not worry about anything. No more periods!

When I attended BlogHer this summer in New York I first heard about the new line of Poise products being introduced to the women over 40 crowd.  The new #PoiseFab5 products are designed for women who are experiencing side effects related to either perimenopause or menopause. I was really impressed by how great the cooling gel felt on my arm. So when I heard Collective Bias #CBias was looking for bloggers to try out these new products and introduce them to our friends while we talked about this new part of growing older, I jumped at the chance.

I really wanted to learn more about the #PoiseFab5 products so I headed over to the Poise site and then I went to the Poise brand page on Walmart.com, watched the Fab5 videos, printed off a $1.00 off coupon, and then headed to Walmart. I found out that not all Walmart’s carry all of the Fab5 products or are often out of at least one of them but usually they carry most of them. I found four here at the store in Matteson.

 On the night of our Meno-Pause party (did you see some of the awesome food we had)  my girlfriends and I swapped stories about our hot flashes and shared tips on what we do to help ourselves out during our “private summers”.

We love the roll on cooling gel and the body cooling towelettes.  We also discussed how at times we all feel a little not so fresh, and how the feminine wash can help with that as well as using the panty fresheners.

..                    

We had so much fun discussing the next stage and laughing at how our bodies have all changed as we settle into the 40′s and our kids are no longer little anymore. We also toasted to going through this new phase together as we embark on this next journey.

Oh, and by the way, there are some benefits to being so “hot” at our age.

And to remember to think positively about it.

Because you see, Kathy certainly does enjoy her new way of reheating up her coffee in the morning.

You can’t really see it well from the picture, but when the hail was hitting the trampoline, it bounced and jumped all around.

It’s May, look at how much hail we had fall, and the patio table is completely covered. Let’s hope its not a sign of a cold summer coming up.

Across from the animation wall are these brightly lit resort check in desks, how fun are those?

When in the lobby check out this light fixture. Take a good look at it. Do you notice anything peculiar? 

  There are pencil drawings hanging from it.

And each drawing is suspended on an individual pole with a back light shining on it. Cool, right?

In Animation Hall you will find Registration, The Ink & Paint Shop, which is filled with Disney merchandise and collectibles, Landscape of Flavors, which is the food court, and the Pixel Play Arcade.  And we just walked into the resort! Wait until I show you the pool area and the really cool family suites.

This new property will bring guests into the larger than life worlds of classic Disney and Disney Pixar films and will consist of nearly 2,000 themed rooms which will primarily be 1,120 family suites in the Finding Nemo, Cars and The Lion King wings and 864 regular value rooms in the Little Mermaid wing.   The opening of the different themed areas of the resort will be staggered starting with the Finding Nemo wings opening to the public on May 31, followed by Cars on June 18 and The Lion King on August 10. The value rooms at The Little Mermaid wings will open on September 15.

Some Fun facts about this new property

• Total property size: 87 acres
• The Nemo pool has 310,000 gallons and is the largest pool on Disney property, not counting water parks
• If you combined all the swimming pools, you could park 125 cars inside the pools
• For the first time ever at any Disney resort hotel,  in-room décor pieces may be purchased at the gift shop. Ink & Paint Shop offers such items as the “Bruce” shower curtain or cozy cone lamps.

I took this picture on our last night. I couldn’t help watching my dad’s face as he watched in wonder and amazement of the nightly Main Street Electrical Parade.  Yeah, he’s smiling.

It’s Here!

It’s finally the day that we get to load up the car and drive to Florida for a fun filled long weekend attending Disney’s Social Media Moms Celebration! Yippeeee! We are so excited.

When first opening the package, I noticed that the cheese and bread crumb seasoning mixtures are sealed separately, yet when opening it to up, it pulls apart easily.

Shake the chicken in the bag but it won’t stick that well, so instead, press the mixture on to the chicken.

Lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray and arrange the chicken on it. Add any left over coating mixture to top off the chicken.

Bake in a 375 degree oven for 30-45 minutes depending on the thickness of the chicken, until golden brown.

And that’s it! Simple. Easy. Delicious & Fast. Enjoy!

I rounded out the meal with rice pilaf and green beans. And can I just say, my family liked the chicken!!! Yeah.

So tomorrow, I’ll be heading to the store and buying the third flavor and trying the other two out on my family soon. I get a little giddy when I find a new way to make chicken that my family likes!

Fill in the white in the egg and the orange in the feet and then add the eyes and beak in the yellow area. You know, so he can be peeking out of the shell. Cute, huh?

My great-niece just celebrated her 1st birthday.  Look at that awesome  birthday cake made by Uncle Gary & Kernel Sweetooth.

How adorable is this!

 She wasn’t sure what to think of it, but knew it tasted yummy!
